Dear Bill,
Part of it is me having a perverse
attachment to a language I learnt
as an undegraduate in 1982.
But the main reason is that I thought
this was the only version of Fortran
that could be integrated into R.
This come out of discussions I had
with Robert (with an "R") Gentleman
only about 2 years ago; e.g.
Fortran 90 code is no good re R.
