Please read the FAQs in order to learn what a bug is and how to report it. Have you read the R Installation and Administration manual about details and quirks with your platform?
Please try the most recent version of R (which is 2.4.1), follow the details from the manual mentioned and ask again (but on the mailing list R-help rather than submitting a bug report!) if you still fail with the attempts to install R.
