Please don't post to multiple lists. You have ignored the posting quide -- this is about some version of lattice (not mentioned), and we do not have a reproducible example (no valori, alpha, beta, for a start).

I suggest you study the posting guide and re-post to R-help with all the details you are asked for.

You can always get messages in English (start R with LANGUAGE=en), and that does make it much easier for the helpers to find the exact message.
