After various reports of problems reading the PDF with GSView 2.9, I tested
the final version (I had looked at a draft) under the current versions,
GSView 3.6 and gs 6.50. No problems.

I do recommend an upgrade: ghostscript has got much better at handling PDF
recently (especially writing it but also reading it).
