I have just uploaded to CRAN a revision of odesolve in which the regression
example runs only if gnlm is installed. Please accept my apologies for the
difficulties. The next version will include the nlme example.

That is one of Jim Lindsey's packages, see the FAQ.

[Unfortunately, the most recent versions of Jim's packages do not all
install smoothly with R 1.2.3.]

The next version of odesolve will also feature an example from nlme,
which is easily accessible via CRAN and will be a `recommended' package
for R 1.3.0. Along with that, it also makes sense to conditionalize the
example.
