I believe you're seeing the output of Duncan Murdoch's Rgl package, which
links OpenGL to R. On screen, one can use the mouse to rotate the 3D
object.

AFAIK this is only available on Duncan's web site (do a google search on his
name and you'll see it). Currently it only runs on Windoze. There's a
paper in the DSC-2001 proceeding (link from the official R web site).
