Hi Folks,
Some more questions:
Q1: Is anyone collecting suggestions for amendments to the documentation
(online "help" and R-Notes)? --
Q2: (Supersedes Q1 to am unknown extent) -- or are there moves to bring
R more in line with the documentation?
Q3: (Graphics) I'm not seeing how to use the available graphics parameters
to directly control the displayed scaling of user coordinates.
For instance: The demo demos/graphics/image shows the Maunga Whau
volcano. X ranges from 0:870 metres, Y from 0:610 metres. I would like
to see (and especially print) 100m on the x-axis the same length as
100m on the y-axis.
One option for this specific case might read "eqs=TRUE"
("equal scaling").
A more generally useful option might read "ucar=1.0" ("user coordinate
aspect ratio") set to a real value which is the aspect ratio
(y-ht/x-ht) of the displayed rectangle which is 1 user unit high and 1
user unit wide.
With thanks for all useful feedback,
Ted. (Ted.Harding@nessie.mcc.ac.uk)
