First, I think Heberto Ghezzo missed the Subject: line and the crucial
word `Windows' or `win32' (since that message replied to was not from me,
and I can't find a single message which contains the informatin referred
to).
The current situation is that we can now build compiled packages that
work on W95/8 and NT4.0, at least, but Guido and I have agreed to link
against the new R.dll and not R.exe which is how the packages currently
made available are linked. One day soon we will have a unified version
and this confusion will go away, but that depends on two very busy
people merging in each other's contributions and testing. Until then I
have made available a development version for people who want to use
some of its features, and have received some very valuable feedback. It
uses my initials as I hoped that people would know to ask *me* not
Guido Masarotto or Robert Gentleman or .... or R-help!
