Not EVERY elem stats book. The best (IMHO) intro stats book (Freedman
et al) does it right--it ONLY uses histograms with a density y axis. I
used this book to teach stats to psych majors for several yrs.

Freedman, Pisani, Purves, Adhikari (1991) Statistics. Norton ISBN
0-393-96043-9

I think there is a newer 3rd ed.
