There seems to be some general problem with assignment functions, or
else I don't understand the R syntax for these. This is further
simplifed from my previous example:

> "tfram<-" <-function(x, tf){ x }
> z <- 1:5
> tfram(z) <- c(1,2)
Error in tfram<-(c(1, 2, 3, 4, 5), value = c(1, 2)) : unused argument to function
>
