Subject: R-alpha: dyn.load && character strings

Hi,

I cannot figure out how to pass character strings to a dynamically
loaded C-function (using .C). Everything works just fine for doubles,
but i cannot passs even a single character.

I would be very grateful if somebody could help, perhaps by a working
example.

BTW: I simply wanted to write a wrapper function for tmpnam, to get me
a tmp-file name. But I think a function returning a unique tmp-file name
should be in the base library anyway.

Regards,
Fritz
