This seems to happen with any data frame.  This is an example of stuff
which slipped throught when data frames were introduced.  Should be
easy to fix.

When we get to be event driven I'd like to switch to using the Xbae
matrix widgit for data entry.  I think that this may require motif,
which might be a problem, but hopefully lesstif will be usable by
then.
