Subject: R-alpha: Small bug in plot

It seems that the plot function has problems with data sets where the scale
is not much bigger than the precision of the floating point arithmetic.
For example, the following three commands

> y<-rep(1,1000)
> y[500]<-1+1e-10
> plot(y)

run into an endless loop of the plot command.
