Yes, I stand warned. But perhaps a heads-up would be useful in the docs (there is some information about this in the vignettes section but I think it's worth including this in the documentation for "R CMD check" to prevent confusion. I suppose implicitly you expect the html to be generated given that the pdf manual is created at this step).
