Sorry, I meant par(ask=TRUE) before each plot. On MacOS, when I ran the my script, it did not wait for input at all. Only the last graph was remaining.

(1) Why do you set par(ask=TRUE) ***after each plot***??? It would seem to me to make more sense to set it ***once*** before commencing the sequence of plots.

(2) par(ask=TRUE) appears to work just fine for me on MacOS:

    par(ask=TRUE)
    for(i in 1:3) plot(i:(10*i))

does exactly what I would expect.
