I found .noarch.rpm's for the first 4 of the 6 you listed below and installed them and the problem went away.

Strangely, when I tried to intstall (using rpm -Uvh) the 100 dpi ones I got a message saying that they were already installed. Nevertheless, when I restarted the X server, xlsfonts showed more fonts for the 100 dpi case (in particular, the small ones, 10 and 8) as well as the 75 dpis, which had not been there before.

I don't understand that, but my problem is solved, so I am happy. Thanks again.
