I would like to know the answer to this question now that I know what we are getting at. integrate() looks like it is the right thing, but it has to use a function- I would like to know how to just integrate the area under a curve with just an input of x and y coordinates.

Let's not spend our time and resources thinking about things that are so
little or so large that all they really do for us is puff us up and make us
feel like gods. We are mammals, and have not exhausted the annoying little
problems of being mammals.
