      pnorm(q, mean = 0, sd = 1, lower.tail = TRUE, log.p = FALSE)

      x,q: vector of quantiles.

lower.tail: logical; if TRUE (default), probabilities are P[X <= x],

           otherwise, P[X > x].

Note that lower.tail is not said to be a vector, and the first value is taken (what it is is random in your example).
