  That's 'Ubuntu'.

  If you run the package manager ("synaptic") and set up your repository settings to include 'universe' then you should see a bunch of R-related stuff in the 'Mathematics (universe)' section, for R 2.0.1. You should then be only a few clicks away from an R install.

  If you need any help setting up the Ubuntu package manager in this way, best to ask on an Ubuntu discussion list.
