You may want to check with Xianhong Xie <xie@stat.wisc.edu> to get a prepublication copy of an article he has written on the use of Condor (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/condor/) and especially its DAG (directed acyclic graph) capabilities to control the execution of R batch jobs.
