Please provide an example that doesn't work, I made one up quickly just to see what would happend and it worked without errors.  > g=c(1,0,2,0)

[1] 1 0 2 0
> v<-c(5,10,15,20)
> dim(v) <- c(2,2)
> v

[,1] [,2]
[1,] 5 15
[2,] 10 20

[,1] [,2]
[1,] -0.4 0.6
