          I haven't seen a reply to this post, so I just experimented with a few terms in R Site Search. RSiteSearch("multinomial hierarchical model") produced 8 hits, the first of which was "http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/library/bayesm/html/rhierMnlRwMixture.html".
