Not me (nor has it been reported and this has been the same for over a year), but try configuring with --disable-mbcs.

That is a very old OS, and its header files are probably not conformant to C99 or POSIX. (Even Solaris 8 which dates from 2000 needs libiconv installed before it will support MBCS, but this is picked up by configure.)
