Ray,

R can talk to Ms access very well through RODBC. Here is how:

mdbConnect<-odbcConnectAccess("C:\\temp\\demo.mdb");

sqlTables(mdbConnect);

demo<-sqlFetch(mdbConnect, "tblDemo");

odbcClose(mdbConnect);

rm(demo);
