Subject: R-alpha: memory exhausted

After recompiling to fix eval to fix source I can now source some of my
files but quickly run into a "memory exhausted" problem. This happens
in about the same place even with -v400 which suggests the problem may
not really be related to memory, or at least not the vector heap set by
-v. (I needed to change UNIXsystem.c to allow this size, and yes I ran
it on a machine that has that much memory.) This happens on the third
of about 20 files I need to source, although I can run some tests if I
can source 4 of them. I started playing a bit with environment
variables R_NSize and R_NSize, but had no success, and don't really
know what I'm doing, so I'll wait for advice.

I also noticed the warning message (in UNIXsystem.c) for both R_NSize
and R_VSIZE refer to "vector heap". Maybe one should have a slightly
different error message?

Also, when I run remotely, how do I specify where the graphics device
should open?
