Perhaps the following is obvious to everyone else, but
 In order to get R to pass the "DOBSON" test I had to
1) modify the models code for df.residual to include ...
desire:/data/R-alpha/0.4/src/library/base> diff models models~
< df.residual := function(x, ...)
> df.residual := function(x)

2) modify the lm code to define df.residual.lm instead of just
desire:/data/R-alpha/0.4/src/library/base> diff lm lm~
< df.residual.lm := function(z) z$df.residual
> df.residual := function(z) z$df.residual

If this is the *wrong* way to fix these sort of problems, please let
me know.
