1. It would be nice to have the following simple functions (that I have
defined for myself but are not standard in R0.13), one of which was
recently mentioned my someone else:
sequence (in the help, but not defined)

2. In the help/manual debate, I would strongly advocate that a simple
more/less help within R be maintained, whatever other solution is
adopted. It should always be possible to define help() such that the
pages come up in the same window that R is using.

3. A slightly corrected version of my previous mexp, that works with
asymmetric matrices (thanks to Malcolm Faddy) while we wait for
complex numbers in R, and without heavy programming (I leave out the
checking). The defaults work well with me for 25x25 matrices. Jim

mexp <- function(x, t=1, n=20, k=3){
	xx <- x*t/2^k
	p <- diag(dim(x)[1])
	q <- p
	for(r in 1:n){
		q <- xx%*%q/r
		p <- p+q}
	for(i in 1:k) p <- p%*%p
