Subject: R-alpha: compatibility of graphical procedures

I tried to port some of the simpler Splus packages on statlib to R,
but in most cases incompatibilities between the arguments of graphical
procedures proved too much. Especially absence of the "horiz" argument in
barplot, and the fact that boxplot does not return a value in R.

Did anyone have the same problems and make a workaround, or will this
kind of thing gradually disappear in future versions?

A function image.legend would be nice to have as well.
